About

THIS EVENT IS PART OF THE ENGLISH RIVIERA WALKING FESTIVAL

Walking and wine tasting – what’s not to like?

Our walking tour begins at Sandridge Barton Wines, nestled in a picturesque valley in the South Hams,  producing over 80 tonnes of fruit per year from their 32-acre vineyards. From here, we meander through the narrow lanes to the picture-postcard village of Stoke Gabriel, located on the banks of the river Dart. We return to the vineyard to enjoy their mouth watering lunch, whilst being entertained by Paul, your musical tour guide! Afterwards, you’ll be taken on a guided wine tasting tour of the winemaking facilities, whilst sampling local Devon cheeses.

Visit Stoke Gabriel village church which dates back to 1085

Walk backwards around its 1000 year old Yew tree 7 times and make a wish!

Take time to admire the breath-taking views across the river

Gain a real insight into the production processes behind their wines and enjoy an informative wine tasting experience.

Whilst sampling three wines, hear about the methods employed in the vineyard all the way through to bottling.
