What could be more romantic than a seaside wedding, with South Devon's beautiful bay as the stunning backdrop to your celebrations? The area is understandably popular with romantic couples looking to tie the knot somewhere really special and create memories that will last the rest of their lives. And there really couldn't be a better place, with so many options, whether you are looking to hold a budget-busting extravaganza or something a tad more sedate for close friends and family. Torre Abbey

This stunning venue close to Torquay seafront has a range of options for your perfect day. You can hold your ceremony in a Medieval under croft, in the amazing Spanish Barn (dating back to the 13th century) or even in the palm house. Photos can be taken in the award-winning gardens amongst the abbey ruins, while the barn itself is one of the most unique and beautiful places in the entire Bay to hold your wedding reception.

Cockington Court

Cockington is a wonderfully romantic place to get hitched, whether you tie the knot in the church or in one of the ceremony rooms in the Grade II listed Manor House. Cockington Court can accommodate up to 55 people for civil ceremonies, while there's no shortage of stunning spots for photographs, with the house set in 460 acres of stunning parkland.

There's a huge choice of hotels on the English Riviera, perfect for accommodating your reception as well as your guests. Popular seafront options with stunning views include The Grand, The Imperial, The Osborne, The Livermead Cliff and The Livermead House Hotel in Torquay, or perhaps the Redcliffe Hotel or The Palace Hotel and Spa in Paignton. For something completely different, why not consider saying "I do" on the Babbacombe Cliff Railway or in the spherical glass pod looking over the sea at the Cary Arms. Just watch out for animals 'photobombing' your wedding snaps!
