About
Welcome To The Kents
Using locally sourced food & quality real ales
Nestled at the base of the leafy Wellswood area in Torquay, The Kents is a family-friendly local pub with some of the best pub food in Torquay.
We are also featured in the English Riviera Eating Out Guide.
Less than one mile from Torquay’s harbour-side and the closest pub to Kents Cavern, this popular local pub offers a range of lunchtime and evening meals, Sunday roasts, real ales, wines by the glass and a full range of lagers.
Pull up a chair in our restaurant, recline on the cosy sofas or relax in the spacious beer garden (which is a perfect sun trap on a warm day); attentive and friendly staff will make you feel welcome.

Traditional Devonshire Bar - Enjoy traditional pub service at family-friendly bar with lots of our locals and team of helpful staff. Whether you are a hungry walker, family, group of friends or just travelling through, all are welcome!
The Kent’s is part of the cask masque group and has also featured in the good beer guide 2019. Come and try our range of 3 permanent local ales and our 2 other real ales including a guest ale that changes frequently. We also have a craft tap that changes every couple of weeks.
Craft Gin Selection - If you love gin this is the place to be! With 45+ premium craft gins you’ll be stuck for choice. However with our well trained team of staff we’ll be able to help with recommendations on gin, garnish and tonic! If you are feeling really adventurous why not try one of our homemade gin boards?
Sunny Beer Garden - Situated in the sunny area of Wellswood, our garden setting is tranquil and quite the sun trap, the perfect location to enjoy our real ales and selection of craft gins. Spend your day enjoying lunch or dinner alfresco style with our gastro menu, looking at our beautifully kept garden.
Where Our Food Comes From
Our Head Chef, Steve Hoyle, sources his ingredient locally where possible.
We aim to source all our meat from the West Country, and we use a high-quality Devon butcher.
Our fish comes mainly from Brixham, and our mussels are from the River Teign, Teignmouth.
We get our fruit and vegetables from a local greengrocer
Steve and his team take pride in preparing all dishes here in our kitchen.
We even smoke our own meat, fish and cheese and make our own sausages on the premises.
Live Sports - The Kents shows all major BT Sports games on our big screen, including the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and Aviva Premiership Rugby.
Access information: Accessible to wheelchair users, disabled toilet, large print information, guide dogs welcome, minicom, disability awareness trained staff.
