Torquay was the star of the show when Traitors finalist Jaz Singh visited Agatha Christie's home town for a mini documentary on ITV's This Morning (16th February 2024).

Jaz's powers of deduction on the hit BBC show Traitors led to viewers giving him the nickname 'Jazatha Christie'.  He later admitted that he didn't really know who Agatha Christie was, so the This Morning team sent him to the author's birthplace to find out more.

Graham Kerr of English Riviera Walking Tours was thrilled to give Jaz an exclusive tour of some of the Torquay places that are of special significance in the story of Agatha's life.  These included her time as a nurse at the Town Hall during the First World War, and her first honeymoon which was spent at The Grand Hotel on Torquay's seafront.

Graham, who is also organiser of the English Riviera Walking Festival, says, "It was a pleasure to take Jaz on a walking tour around Torquay and convey to him the story of Agatha Christie's extraordinary life. He was absolutely astounded by her achievements....she's the best selling novelist in the world, with sales exceeding 2 billion books; she has the longest running play in the world, The Mousetrap which is now in its 72nd year; and she's the most translated author in the world, with half her novels translated into over 100 languages. At the end of the tour, Jaz was delighted to receive 'And Then There Were None' based at Burgh Island - the best selling crime novel of all time - a crime classic that will no doubt enhance his admiration of Agatha"
