Group Business is a critically important part of the Business Mix for the English Riviera, generating thousands and thousands of bed nights particularly in the shoulder months. We are one of the leading UK Group Destinations and attract a wide range of Group Business including: Coach Operators, School Groups, Outdoor Adventure Groups and Language Schools.

The role of the ERBID Company is to help promote the resort to Group Operators and Group Organisers and to highlight all that the resort can offer Groups including: Accommodation, Attractions, Entertainment, Transport Options and places to Eat and Drink all of which we promote on the main English Riviera Website.

NEW GROUPS DIRECTORY

To assist with promotion to Group Operators the ERBID Company has produced a new English Riviera Groups Directory. The purpose of the directory is to present the ERBID accommodation and attractions that warmly welcome group business of 20 people or more. An electronic version of the new guide is also available to use to service Group Enquiries received via the English Riviera Visitor Information Centre. This guide is taken to the various Group Shows and Exhibitions we attend on behalf of Levy Payers including:

To keep costs down we seek to share the cost of the exhibition stands when we can with strategic partners including the Devon Association of Tourism Attractions (DATA). All leads collected at the different shows are followed up.

GROUP FAM TRIPS

We also warmly welcome and support Group FAM Trips in showcasing all that the English Riviera has to offer for Groups. Conversion to bookings from FAM trips when potential operators can experience the resort first hand has been significant.

PHOTOGRAPHY

We also get frequent requests from Group Operators for quality photography to help them promote their itineraries. To assist we permit Group Operators to access and download images free of charge from the English Riviera Image Library.

GROUPS ADVERTISING

We continue to invest in advertising targeted specifically to the Groups market, including The Bespoke Guide to Devon for UK Groups and WeWantGroups.

Cruise Marketing

Torquay Harbour can provide experienced piloting, tender operations and safe and sheltered anchorage for cruise ships of all sizes. Five to eight cruise ships typically call each year and are promoted on the ERBID What’s On Calendar.
