Visit Devon is the official DMO for Devon and the ERBID Company is a strategic commercial partner with unanimous support for the work and need for a county DMO. Our relationship includes:
The ERBID Chief Executive has a place on the Visit Devon Board of Directors and attends regular Visit Devon Board Meetings.
The ERBID Company pays an annual fee to Visit Devon as a commercial fee to support their work and commits to an advert in the Visit Devon annual guide advertising the English Riviera.
The ERBID Company supports Visit Devon’s intention to become the official Local Visitor Enterprise Partnership working directly with Government as part of the recommendations in the roll-out of the Government’s DMO review. This review should bring greater coherence to the national landscape and to the effectiveness of DMOs, of which there are currently over 200.
The Chief Executive of the ERBID Company meets with the Leader, Cabinet Member for Tourism and Chief Executive of Torbay Council on a monthly basis to discuss key issues.
Torbay Development Agency (TDA) has voted unanimously to support the operation of an English Riviera Business Improvement District, and as such, the two organisations work together on numerous aspects.
The Global Geopark Management Committee is the lead organisation bringing together all the strategic partners involved in ensuring that we work together to retain our UNESCO accreditation.
The Great South West Tourism Partnership was formed as a new group at the start of COVID to provide ‘joined up’ and rapid support to the thousands of Tourism and Hospitality businesses across the South West impacted by COVID lockdowns.
As the official DMO for Torbay, the ERBID Company is also the official link with Government through our links with Visit England and DCMS, the Government Departments responsible for Tourism, Culture, Media and Sport.
