About
An exciting event will take place in Dartmouth on Saturday 27th September from 1000 to 1600.
It is a celebration of 200 years of the railways in the UK with a wide range of stands, exhibits, model railways, activities, crafts, train rides and much more for all ages.
It is a free event, centred around the Newcomen Engine, the engine that literally changed the world by ushering in the industrial revolution and the steam railway.
The main venue is the Dartmouth Guildhall, but the Newcomen Engine will be on show in the Visitor Centre, there will be storytelling and colouring in Dartmouth Library, working steam engine models in the Dartmouth Museum, a sit-on train in Royal Avenue Gardens and a walking trail around the town centre looking at sites of railway interest.
Further information is available on the Railway 200 website at: Railway 200.
