About
Join us for a truly inspirational evening in the company of one of Britain’s most admired sporting heroes, Bob Champion. Best known for his remarkable 1981 Grand National victory aboard Aldaniti, Bob’s story captured the hearts of a nation. Just two years earlier, he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer and given slim odds of survival. But through immense courage and determination, Bob not only beat the disease, he returned to the saddle to achieve one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history.
In this intimate theatre show, Bob sits down with engaging presenter Andi Mac for an honest, heartfelt and often humorous conversation, exploring the highs and lows of his extraordinary life. From the intense world of horse racing to his deeply personal battle with illness, Bob’s journey is as uplifting as it is humbling.
Audiences will also enjoy live music from Gaelic Gold, whose rich, Celtic-inspired sound perfectly complements the evening’s reflective and celebratory tone. Their moving performance will set the stage for a night that blends emotional storytelling with stirring entertainment.
Produced by Garreth Hicklin, An Audience with Bob Champion goes beyond biography, it’s a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit, the will to overcome adversity, and the enduring power of hope.
Whether you’re a racing enthusiast, a lover of real-life drama, or simply in need of a night that moves and uplifts, this show promises an unforgettable experience.
