About
Occombe Farm – Indoor Play, Outdoor Adventure & Animal Encounters on the English Riviera
Occombe Farm is a unique all-weather family attraction in Paignton, on the English Riviera. It’s where play, nature and animals come together for an unforgettable adventure – and every visit help support local conservation too!
Our inspirational indoor Play Barn is where the outdoors comes inside! Designed for children aged 2–12yrs, the barn is split into exciting zones themed around Torbay’s natural landscapes – coast, countryside and woodland. There are cliff faces to scramble up, a giant shell to climb inside, slides to swoosh down, even a shipwreck to explore. It’s imaginative, physical play that encourages creativity and active fun, whatever the weather.
Outside, the adventure continues with a giant straw bale maze complete with tunnels and slides, plus ride-on mini tractors, playhouses and a messy kitchen where kids can “cook” up a truly revolting feast with mud and imagination!
Animal lovers will love our Animal Encounters Barn, where you can meet some of our friendliest residents including Shetland ponies, goats, rabbits and Guinea pigs. Join one of our daily animal interaction sessions to enjoy cuddles, brushing and grooming, and fun facts shared by our friendly farm rangers.
Follow our self-guided paddocks trail to spot even more animals outdoors – from fluffy Dartmoor sheep and cheeky goats, donkeys, chickens and ducks, and more. You can even feed them with special snacks available to purchase on arrival.
When it’s time to refuel, head to the Occombe Farm Café for hearty breakfasts, lunches, afternoon tea, or simply coffee and cakes. Our Café is located at the heart of the farm where you can dine indoors or out, with stunning countryside views across Torbay. There’s also a wide selection of super-fast fill-ups for the whole family at our Play Barn Kiosk too. Pasties, toasties and sweet treats for kids and grown-ups!
A visit to Occombe Farm is family fun that helps support the work of our parent charity, Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust. Torbay has an outstanding natural environment and heritage that needs special care and attention. Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust is a conservation charity that cares for nearly 80% of Torbay’s natural green spaces. Spaces like Cockington Country Park, Berry Head National Nature Reserve and lots of wildlife-friendly woodlands, meadows, pathways and bridleways around Torbay. Good times that do good!
Play, explore, meet the animals and support nature – all in one amazing family visit to Occombe Farm!
