THIS EVENT IS PART OF THE ENGLISH RIVIERA WALKING FESTIVAL
Many eminent residents have been attracted to Torquay over the past 200 years. Their impact resonates across the Arts, Military, Exploration and Nursing.
To recognise their outstanding contributions to Torquay and Britain, Torbay Civic Society has awarded blue plaques to these people throughout the town, which today can be found on the grand Georgian and Victorian buildings where they lived.
From Russian Princes to Field Marshalls, poets to explorers, this fascinating historical tour, through Wellswood and Torwood follows the blue plaques and tells the stories behind the people and events which brought them to national prominence.
