THE INN THEATRE COMPANY bring Lunatics and Fools, as part of our Stage Left Vibes series.

Madness is a recurring theme in Shakespeare’s plays. There are characters who go mad, characters who pretend to go mad, and characters who try to send others mad. Not to mention Shakespeare’s fools, who may seem bonkers but often speak more sense than anyone else. Modern attitudes to mental health, madness and insanity are very different from those of the 16th century, but Shakespeare’s depictions of people in mental torment is often strikingly recognisable.
The Inn Theatre Company has put together a mad, crazy evening of scenes from Shakespeare’s plays on the theme of insanity, Lunatics and Fools. There will be characters you know well, such as Ophelia, Feste and King Lear, alongside some you might not be expecting.

So please come and join us. You’ll be surprised, informed, amused, shocked and, above all, entertained.

The Inn Theatre Company draws performers from across south Devon for their productions, which include a week of open-air performances in the idyllic setting of Dartmouth Castle every summer. The success of their recent shows, Heroes, Villains & Lovers and Dreams, Charms & Phantoms, has inspired them to put together this new and intriguing collection of scenes from Shakespeare.

Enjoy your Shakespeare, with a savoury pie, mash and a crisp glass of cider!

Pies and Cider are served from arrival at 7pm, the performance commences at 7:30pm.

Seating is banqueting style.
