Come and join Doorstep Arts, DYT and DAS Groups this August for a truly exciting theatrical experience!
The performance begins with a brand-new devised production performed by Doorstep Youth Theatre (ages 14–20). Travel back in time to Vulgaria, four years before the Potts family arrive. The parents of the “hidden children” are struggling to rebuild their lives following the Baroness’s child ban… but are some townspeople hiding more than they let on?
After the interval, enjoy the much-loved musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr, performed by all four Doorstep Arts Studio Course (DAS) groups, featuring young performers aged 7–18 years.
Follow eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts as he restores an old race car with the help of his children, Jeremy and Jemima – only to discover it’s magical! When the wicked Baron Bomburst plots to steal the car, the family teams up with Truly Scrumptious, the children and Grandpa to outwit the Baron, Baroness and the terrifying Child Catcher.
Directed by Doorstep Lead Artists Polly Ferguson-Carruthers and Laura Swift, with the support of a wonderful creative team, this joyful production is packed with spectacular singing, energetic dancing and brilliant acting.
