About

The Berry Head Hotel in Brixham, South Devon, is set in a superb waterside position enjoying spectacular views of the English Riviera. Surrounded by six acres of grounds in the seclusion of the Berry Head Country Park, yet only a short walk from the picturesque fishing port of Brixham in the English Riviera.
Steeped in history, nestling on water's edge in 6 acres of grounds and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Once home of Rev Lyte who wrote Abide With Me, here.
The Berry Head Hotel is an elegant 4 star South Devon Hotel and has a range of facilities to cater for conferences as well as Weddings and private functions.

Dining at the Berry Head is an experience not to be missed. All of our dining rooms have
breath taking views across the Torbay coastline.

We offer the choice of an a la carte restaurant for fine dining, or for a more relaxed environment, ‘The View’ Brasserie.

Whether it’s a catch up with friends on the terrace, Sunday lunch or romantic dinner, the Berry Head Hotel is the perfect location suiting all. Perfect for anyone seeking good food, a friendly atmosphere and exceptional service.

With our Executive Head Chef’’s passion for food, along with his established kitchen brigade, you can be assured of an unforgettable dining experience. Every dish leaving our kitchen, is of the highest quality and immaculately presented whether it’s simply a sandwich or our 3 course table d'hôte dinner menu.

“ Excellent wine & food, friendly service,
nothing is too much trouble, we will definitely be returning”

We pride ourselves on sourcing the finest ingredients for you to enjoy.

To ensure we are stocked with the freshest fish possible, we are supplied daily from Brixham trawlers. Our rare breeds of Beef, Pork and Lamb are supplied by the renowned family run farm, Feniton Court Estate and Etherington’s of Cornwall.

An extensive boutique wine list has also been created to specially complement the favours of our dishes. With great choice in terms of styles, grape varieties and price, we are confident in recommending these to our guests.

Plenty to do in the English Riviera and surrounding area.

There are 22 miles of coastline, cliffs, coves and beaches and walks to rival any in the South West of England, with a climate that belongs somewhere much further south. There are opportunities for surfing, safe swimming, diving, sailing, angling and wonderful opportunities to study the natural wildlife at your leisure.

For holidaymakers looking to enjoy the beach life, The English Riviera will leave you spoilt for choice. Along the English RIviera coastline are 19 beaches to choose from, ranging from wide sandy beaches through to private, secluded coves.

Stunning views are to be seen just about everywhere across the Bay, out over the English Channel, along the 40 miles of Lyme Bay to Portland Bill or inland towards the Tors of Dartmoor. Torquay is an ideal base from which to visit Dartmouth, Totnes, Exeter and Plymouth, all of which are only a few miles distant.

The steam railway is well worth a trip, where you can experience a steam train ride across viaducts and through wooded valleys, arriving in the picturesque town of Dartmouth with its quaint art galleries and famous castle.

There are also an array of attractions to keep the whole family entertained! You could visit Paignton Zoo (of TV fame), or go back in time at Kent's Cavern where you'll discover prehistoric caves - recognised as the oldest human dwelling in Britain!

Torre Abbey is the oldest building in Torquay. It has a story spanning 800 years and was once the most important Abbey of its kind in England, the brothers who lived here then were known as the White Canons. Following a massive three-year restoration project visitors can now explore the most ancient and hallowed parts of the building where some stunning finds have been unearthed. Torre Abbey a historic house and garden, also home to a museum and art gallery.

For those feeling more adventurous you'll find Splashdown @ Quaywest in the neighbouring town of Paignton - a waterpark with the renowned near-vertical 'devils drop' waterslide for those daring enough. Back in Torquay, why not visit the Babbacombe Model Village where you can experience Torbay in miniature.
