The English Riviera is a designated UNESCO Global Geopark in South Devon. It is one of only ten in the UK. A geopark is an area of globally recognised unique geological interest with fascinating landscape, coastlines and places. The English Riviera’s dramatic scenery, exceptional coastline and rocks were formed millions of years ago at the bottom of a warm tropical sea and then scorched by the equatorial sun.

The area attracts visitors from around the world who are looking to experience a unique blend of stunning coastal scenery, unique visitor experiences and many happy holiday memories. Devon's Beautiful Bay includes Babbacombe, Torquay, Cockington, Paignton and Brixham and offers special places to visit all year round whether on foot or travelling by bus, train or car.

The English Riviera has an incredible story to tell including a wealth of history and heritage, world-renowned landscapes and wildlife, and a strong local culture and community. With over 22 miles of stunning coastline, which forms part of the South West Coast Path, visitors can take trips, tours and excursions to discover the wealth of coastal and maritime pursuits that are available here. From boat trips, fishing and sailing to Torquay’s more exhilarating beachfront watersports, adventure-seekers will revel in the superb selection of activities on offer. Away from the water, there is still plenty to do with an array of walking routes, cycling paths and spectacular gardens showcasing the fauna and flora that the English Riviera is renowned for.

Not just a seaside resort, days out on the English Riviera can also be filled with trips to the many exciting and fun-packed attractions. Treat the kids to a day out at Paignton Zoo, home to thousands of animals and acres of activities to explore. For a more educational expedition there are various attractions to be found, including the Geo Park which displays historical findings including the earliest human remains or discover more about the world's most famous mystery and crime writer, Agatha Christie who was born and grew up in Torquay.
