About Us

Set in the pleasant district of Babbacombe, Torquay in South Devon, Sunnybank offers comfortable, modern and spacious self-catering accommodation and a home-from-home atmosphere. There are fantastic sea views across Lyme Bay and towards Dorset from the balcony and a delightful enclosed garden with outdoor furniture so you can enjoy the English Riviera’s mild climate and some alfresco dining.

Sunnybank can sleep up to 6 people, and welcomes well-behaved pets. There’s ample onsite free parking for 2 cars. There are 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed and two twin bedded guestrooms.

Some of South Devon’s top beaches are located within easy reach of Sunnybank.  Oddicombe Beach, Blue Flag & Seaside Award winner 2019, is a picture postcard cove with red sand and pretty, colourful beach huts and only 1.2 miles away. There’s plenty to choose with Anstey's Cove (0.7 miles), a hidden gem nestled between Torquay and Babbacombe with dramatic hillside paths, stunning woodlands and a wildlife reserve and Meadfoot Beach (2.2 miles), a haven for paddleboarders, kayaking and water sport enthusiasts. Torquay’s main beach, Torre Abbey Sands (2.4 miles) is perfect for families as the gently sloping tidal conditions make sandcastle building, paddling and swimming safe and fun.

Comfortable self catering in the heart of Torquay

From Sunnybank you can easily access Babbacombe Downs (0.5 miles) to take in a show at Babbacombe Theatre, visit Babbacombe Model Village or ride the charming Babbacombe Cliff Railway. At St Marychurch (1.0 mile) you’ll find Bygones Museum and take a trip to Wellswood (1.0 mile) for Kents Cavern, a world-class attraction and gateway site to the UNESCO Global Geopark. Torquay Golf Club (1.2 miles) is a delightful 18-hole parkland course that welcomes seasonal day visitors and keen golfers.

22-miles of beautiful coastline makes up the South West Coast Path and the area has been designated UNESCO Global Geopark status for its unique landscape, which is of geological significance.  Torquay is the birthplace of world-famous writer, Agatha Christie and there’s plenty to amuse fans of the ‘Queen of Crime’, including the Agatha Christie Mile, a self-led walking trail around the town.

For some stylish shopping head to Torquay’s bustling harbourside (2 miles) where you’ll find large department stores selling high quality brands and designer names.  The town centre (1.5 miles) has a wide range of shops and Central Cinema with 4 screens set across 3 floors providing affordably-priced indoor entertainment for all the family. If you’re looking for some delicious home-grown produce and handmade crafts for holiday gifts, you’ll find plenty of independent shops, farm shops and outdoor markets in South Devon.
