Family Holidays in Torquay

Torquay is a great year-round destination if you’ve got little ones, thanks to the wealth of quality family attractions that caters specifically for children. You’ll find both indoor and outdoor attractions, a safe, clean and sandy beach (that officially has the best sand in the UK for building sandcastles) and lots of opportunities for adults to relax while the children have fun. Family favourites include: Kents Cavern, Torre Abbey and Torquay Musuem.

Situated a short distance from Torquay, Babbacombe is home to three very popular family attractions including: Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones Victorian Village and Babbacombe Cliff Railway.

The lively seafront of Paignton and that of nearby Goodrington offers a host of child-friendly attractions from safe sandy beaches, family friendly boat trips from Paignton Harbour waterslides at Splashdown family fun at Pirates Bay Adventure Crazy Golf, Geoplay Park on Paignton Green and of course Paignton Pier. Other popular Paignton family attractions include Paignton Zoo and Paignton Steam Railway both of which offer many special child-friendly events throughout the year.

During the summer months you will find Paignton hosts many festivals and fairs.

Family Holidays in Brixham

If you are looking for a lively, child-friendly place to stay in Brixham there’s plenty for the youngsters to do at South Bay Holiday Park. Down in the town, you’ll discover the Golden Hind an amazing life-size replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship. Locally known as ‘The Pirate Ship’ a visit to the Golden Hind is always a winner with children and adults alike – there’s plenty of opportunity to be a pirate for the day!

Nearby Breakwater Beach has a cupboard full of awards, including a Quality Coast Award, and is a Marine Conservation Society Good Beach Guide Recommended Beach.

Brixham is famous for its many family-friendly events held during the year including the annual Pirate Festival .

For family nature lovers, nearby Berry Head is a National Nature Reserve and gateway site for the UNESCO-supported English Riviera Global Geopark, while the South West Coast Path also offers breathtaking coastal walks.
