About
THIS EVENT IS PART OF THE ENGLISH RIVIERA WALKING FESTIVAL
Even if you’ve never read an Agatha Christie novel or watched one of her plays, it doesn’t matter!
This fascinating tour tells the story of her extraordinary life. How she overcame personal and professional challenges to become the world’s best selling novelist. Only the Bible and Shakespeare have sold more books than Agatha Christie. We follow the stunning English Riviera coastline whilst conveying the story of her life growing up in Torquay and her incredible achievements. She was an accomplished horse rider, a beautiful dancer, a classically trained opera singer and pianist, a distinguished archaeologist, who was travelling the world before package holidays were invented and even found time to work as a nurse and Pharmacist in both World Wars – a truly remarkable woman, with an equally remarkable story to tell.
Find out about Agatha’s first 30 years growing up in Torquay
See where her first husband proposed and the hotel where they spent their honeymoon
Walk along the pier where she would roller skate with her friends.
Visit the place where Agatha discovered the retired Belgian Inspector who inspired Hercule Poirot.
