About
Join Moonstone Theatre Company to help them solve a mystery, whilst enjoying a fabulous afternoon tea experience, held in Stage Left.
Every year people flocked to the small Devon town of Barton Ferrers for the November the 5th celebrations. Otters St Mary had its tar barrels, Sticklepath had its fire show and Barton Ferrers had a re-enactment of the Gunpowder Plot. A model of Big Ben was built on the village green, and a group of townsfolk performed the events of that fateful night on November 5, 1605.
However, on the 8 November 2025, the night of the Barton Ferrers lightshow, Philip Dunbar, who was going to play Guy Fawkes, was found dead inside the burn-out model of Big Ben. He had been hit on the head.
The police were called, and Detective Chief Inspector Appleby was put in charge of the case. He concluded that his key suspects were the other townsfolk playing parts in the re-enactment and he has asked them to attend this evening in order to pursue his investigations. He calls on the other guests to help him.
All the clues will be there to catch the killer, but will they be correctly deduced? Detective Chief Inspector Appleby, with the help of the other guests, is determined to get to the truth before the afternoon is out.
Tickets include a delicious afternoon tea served in Stage Left.
