About
We're stepping back to the Roaring Twenties this Christmas, so why not pop on your dancing shoes and join a Charleston class with 'Swingout Swingdance' in the house?
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Erica and Cliff, dance teachers from local group 'Swingout Swingdance' will be on hand to demonstrate how to dance the Charleston.
Join them in the Saloon at their drop in dance class on selected dates and learn all about the steps, rhythm and beat of the Charleston. They'll be showing the steps and inviting you to give it a go throughout the day.
An accessible and inclusive dance, it's suitable for all ages, with easy to master moves which can be danced solo or with a partner.
So why not soak up the spirit of the Jazz era and get ready for the festive season as the house is trimmed for a Roaring Twenties party.
Suitability - Children are very welcome when accompanied by an adult.
Meeting point - The dance class will take place in the Saloon, on the ground floor of the house.
What to bring and wear - Feel free to come dressed for the occasion, but we advise no stiletto heels due to the original flooring in the Saloon.
Accessibility - This activity takes place on the ground floor of the house. There is a set of stairs leading down into the room.
Other - The instructors will be on hand all day, so there is no set time for the class. Drop in anytime between 12pm and 3.30pm. Last entrance to the house is at 3.30pm.
