Our coastal environment is one of natural abundance, wild beauty, and fascinating interconnections. Join us on one of our Coastal Foraging Walks for a journey of rediscovery and re-connection with the wild foods which have sustained our ancestors for thousands of years, and which continue to be a sustainable, natural and revitalising addition to our diets today.
Our shores are home to a whole host of wild edible plants, seaweeds and marine organisms - as well as their nutritional value, many of these have fascinating folk-lore and tradition associated with them, and to know a bit about them provides a whole new way to experience your surroundings on any coastal walk. This activity is aimed at confidence-building for beginners, to give you the tools to forage safely and sustainably in our wonderful coastal areas; this knowledge is greatly transferrable to a huge variety of marine environments, especially in the South West.
