About
Audiences have come to expect a magical and memorable theatre experience at the Babbacombe Theatre, and as the venue marks a milestone year in 2026, the highly acclaimed shows continue. Colin Matthews once again produces and directs a thrilling new production, bringing you something old and something new to enchant and entertain in his 40th year at the theatre.
CELEBRATION features showstopping illusions alongside highlights from West End and Broadway musicals, Oscar-winning soundtracks, Grammy-worthy pop anthems and the comedic gems of classic entertainment.
Headlining is Comedy Excellence Award winner Steve Laister, often praised by reviewers who say, "He should be on the TV." While not on television, Steve will do what he does best — deliver brand-new comedic material and unmistakably dynamic vocals.
Joining him is another Babbacombe favourite — British Magical Champion of Illusion Daniel Dean, who will amaze and confound with his mystifying stage act. His illusions may leave your head spinning, but his versatility as an entertainer is equally captivating.
Elevating the show's musical heart are three fan-favourite vocalists, Lorna Amy Sullivan, an exceptional talent and a performer in demand worldwide. Returning by popular demand with his rich West End tenor voice, is Paul Cobley, and outstanding actress and vocalist Claire Waring. She promises to deliver a selection of iconic, show-stopping numbers worthy of any true celebration. They are joined by resident dancers, Danze Chique and our charming junior cast Kidz & Co.
Everyone involved in CELEBRATION hopes your evening exceeds every expectation as you revel in some of the most iconic moments from Colin's extraordinary journey guiding the Babbacombe Theatre.
