A warm welcome awaits you at our seafront hotel with 82 guest bedrooms, all with modern en-suite facilities. Offering friendly and comfortable surroundings and beautiful sea views, The Babbacombe Hotel enjoys an idyllic level position directly on the sea front, overlooking the famous, Babbacombe Downs with its far-reaching beautiful views across Lyme Bay and towards Dorset. Many of our bedrooms have stunning sea aspects and private balconies to enjoy the Mediterranean-style climate.
The Babbacombe Hotel offers clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation for all guests, with a range of options including Single, Twin, Standard, Sea view, Sea view with patio or balcony and the Superior sea view with balcony. Family rooms are also available for larger holiday parties. We are a disabled-friendly accommodation and have a number of bedrooms on the ground floor and 10 purpose built wet rooms, built to DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) Grade 5 status and grab rails in the disabled bathrooms for guests with limited mobility. There are also bedrooms on the first and second floors with step-in showers, providing easy access for disabled visitors and a modern passenger lift that can be used. We are only able to accept guide dogs in the hotel.
There is some free parking onsite for guests who have booked their stay directly with the hotel, and a reasonable charge of £1 per hour for up to 5 hours of parking, thereafter £5 for a 24-hour period for bookings made through a third-party website.
The Babbacombe Hotel is perfectly positioned for day trips to some of the region’s top visitor attractions include Babbacombe Model Village (0.7 miles) with its award-winning landscaped gardens and miniature characters, iconic buildings and street scenes; the charming Babbacombe Cliff Railway (0.1 mile)which shuttles visitors to and from the delightful Oddicombe Beach (0.5 miles) and Babbacombe Theatre (0.1 mile) on Babbacombe Downs, which provides year round evening entertainment with cabaret style shows and well-known comedy acts.
Babbacombe is also home to a wealth of quaint tea rooms and coffee shops serving Devon Cream Teas; independent pubs, restaurants, takeaways and family-run cafes using the finest, locally sourced produce and freshly-caught fish and shellfish from England’s Seafood Coast and sold at Brixham Fish Market in the nearby town of Brixham (10.5 miles).
Neighbouring Paignton (5.3 miles), a popular seaside holiday destination can be accessed by car or by catching the frequent Stagecoach bus services, 12 or 22 from the nearby bus stops on Babbacombe Road. There are plenty of fun-filled adventures to be had at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park (7.5 miles); Occombe Farm (5.3 miles) and on Paignton Green. The always popular Dartmouth Steam Railway, which starts from Paignton station travels along the English Riviera coastline taking in the picture-postcard views of Goodrington Sands, Broadsands Beach, the delightful River Dart and towards the final destination of Kingswear (14.1 miles) and onwards to the naval town of Dartmouth (22.3 miles).
There are some lovely coastal and woodland walks nearby as the area’s 22 miles of coastline forms part of the English Riviera’s UNESCO Global Geopark and the South West Coast Path. As one of Earth’s extraordinary places, if you love to be outdoors there are so many places to visit and explore whether on foot, cycling or taking a trip on a ferry. Being beside the coast means that there are plenty of water-based activities to try including paddle boarding, kayaking, coasteering, sailing and many other possibilities.
