Babbacombe Bay House sits proud on Babbacombe Downs, a picturesque corner of Torquay in South Devon. Beyond the palm-fringed promenade, unbroken sea views extend to Portland Bill Lighthouse on the far side of Dorset’s Jurassic coast.
The English Riviera’s coastline is similarly dramatic. Forget the traditional bucket and spade image of the English seaside. Our Victorian terrace overlooks wooded hillsides, distinctive red cliffs, and shifting seascapes.
A whisker away, but a world apart from thriving Torquay, Babbacombe’s magic lies in its ‘village’ feel. It is a tranquil spot with plenty of genteel charm and soaring views from its clifftop promenade, which is the highest in England.
Our beautiful B&B rooms give you complete flexibility to holiday on your own terms. Some enjoy wonderful seaviews, all provide warm hospitality in an immaculate, stylishly presented room. Babbacombe Bay House offers a chic, wholly relaxed environment for you to relax and unwind in.
Babbacombe Bay House offers luxury Bed and Breakfast in six beautifully appointed rooms on the South Devon coast. All rooms feature flat screen TVs, coffee and tea making facilities, and Wifi.
Breakfast is served between 8-9.30am in Babbacombe Bay Café on the ground floor of the property. Enjoy a selection of cereals, juices, pastries and fruit, with freshly made tea or coffee, and your choice from the breakfast menu.
All rooms share a wonderful rooftop terrace, with sweeping sea views from Babbacombe Downs. The terrace is furnished with tables, chairs and luxurious sun loungers. In the milder months it is a lovely spot to enjoy a bottle of wine or simply some sun. Year round, it offers bracing sea air and an outstanding vantage point from the comfort of the building.
We will do all we can to accommodate you during your stay with us. Please be aware that our period Victorian property has several flights of stairs and that we do not have guest parking. You are welcome to load or offload your luggage from the two bays at the rear of the building, when they are free. There is parking on the road and Princes Street Car Park is a two minute walk away.
Occupancy of Bed and Breakfast rooms is one or two people. Sorry we do not accept children. We accept small dogs by arrrangement.
Plenty to see and do in the area, why not take a visit to Bygones Victorian Museum, Babbacombe Model Village, Babbacombe Cliff Railway or the Babbacombe Theatre.
