Continuing our celebration of 100 years since the publication of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd we are thrilled to welcome Martin Edwards, award-winning author and current President of the Detection Club - a post once held by Agatha Christie!

Agatha wasn't a natural 'joiner' but she was a founder member of the legendary Detection Club, was on the committee in the 1930s, and was the fourth (and is still the longest serving) President of the Club. Martin Edwards, the Club's eighth President, explores Agatha's involvement with the Club, the Club's collaborative detective stories to which she contributed, and the way she and her colleagues in the Club helped to ensure the enduring popularity of the stories written during the 'Golden Age of Murder'.

Martin Edwards's latest novels are Fever Island and Miss Winter in the Library with a Knife. The author of the Harry Devlin, Lake District, and Rachel Savernake series, Martin has won three Daggers and ten further Dagger nominations, and has received two Edgars from the Mystery Writers of America. He has received lifetime achievement awards for fiction, non-fiction, short stories, and scholarship, and is consultant to the British Library's bestselling Crime Classics. He is a former Chair of the CWA and has been President of the legendary Detection Club (his seven predecessors include Agatha Christie) since 2015.
