Our lovely guest house has been recently refurbished both inside and out, providing a stylish, relaxing and comfortable setting for your stay.
One of our bedrooms is located on the ground floor and consists of 3 single beds, a large en-suite and a handrail, providing additional support for those with limited mobility. There are 4 further bedrooms located upstairs: 2 spacious doubles, one large double and one king-size room. We are able to cater for guests with special dietary needs so please let us know when you make your booking.
We provide free onsite parking for guests to use, and located on Avenue Road, a popular holiday accommodation district in Torquay, you’ll find that getting around the area couldn’t be easier. Whether you’re planning to explore on foot, by car or by using the regular local bus services, the English Riviera has plenty to offer. If you enjoy learning about local heritage and culture, Torre Abbey Museum and Gardens is a must-see. Take a 5-minute flat walk towards the seafront and you’ll discover the majestic, scheduled monument, ancient monastery, museum and art gallery. Look out for the Potent Plants Garden, based on the crime stories of Torquay’s most famous resident, Agatha Christie. For fans of the Queen of Crime, there is the ‘Agatha Christie Mile’, a self-guided walking trail which leads you to 12 places of interest with 7 plaques to find along the way.
Torquay Harbour and town centre are a 10-minute stroll along the sea front where there are many, popular fine-dining restaurants, family-run cafes, takeaways, lively bars and pubs, all serving locally sourced produce.
For keen walkers or ramblers, the famous, South West Coast Path meanders along the English Riviera’s breath-taking coastline from Babbacombe through to the neighbouring towns of Paignton (3.2 miles) and Brixham (8 miles).
The English Riviera is home to some of the best visitor attractions in the South West including Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, a key gateway site to the English Riviera’s UNESCO Global Geopark (2.6 miles); Babbacombe Cliff Railway and Babbacombe Model Village (2 miles) and Bygones Museum (2.5 miles). There is a vibrant evening scene with a huge choice of glamorous shows, concerts, plays, musicals, ballets and comedies offering you top West End performances and the best of local am-dram. There are no fewer than five theatres with one in Brixham (Brixham Theatre), one in Paignton (Palace Theatre), one in Babbacombe (Babbacombe Theatre) and two in Torquay: The Little Theatre and the Princess Theatre which attracts the very best of the national touring shows.
The English Riviera’s warm and mild climate is perfect for outdoor sports. There are some wonderfully appointed and highly welcoming golf clubs with beautiful 18-hole parkland golf courses and stunning views of the coastline. There are also some lovely pitch and putt courses, adventure golf sites, Torbay Velopark for cycling, and a number of bowling and tennis clubs. As one of the UK’s top seaside holiday destinations, there are plenty of water sport activities including sailing, kayaking, coasteering and wild swimming.
The area is also known as England’s Seafood Coast, home to the UK’s finest seafood and world-famous Brixham Fish Market, where over £40 million worth of fish is landed and sold at auction each year. Early morning tours are available and include a delicious fish breakfast at Rockfish for you to sample some of the freshest seafood available.
