With views reaching across Torbay, Devon's warm climate, the great activities on offer and the outdoor heated pool have consistently made Barton Hall PGL's most popular family activity centre. It's also a firm favourite for residential breaks for schools and Youth and Uniform Groups across Devon.
Once a country mansion, this large, family orientated centre has a brilliant range of facilities, including a comfortable lounge, family bar, chill out/games room, sun room and more. The large heated outdoor pool is a huge hit with families, particularly during the summer months. Make a splash or just relax and watch the kids play, whilst reclining from the comfort of a lounger or deck chair,
At PGL Barton Hall, there's something for everyone - whether you are looking for a short break, a longer stay or just an action-packed day out whilst in the local area! Whichever you choose, there's a huge range of awesome on-site activities, from Giant Swing to Zip Wire, Climbing and Raft Building, to name just a few. You can also opt to try skiing or 'ringos' in your ‘flexi-sessions’ when staying at Barton Hall, with the Torquay Alpine Ski Club dry ski slope that adjoins our centre (pre-booking required)
PGL Family Adventure Breaks
Never mind letting the kids have all the fun – now you can join them at PGL Barton Hall! PGL’s much-loved all-inclusive multi-activity holidays are ideal for experiencing a range of adventures as a family. From abseiling to raft building, zip wire to archery, climbing to giant swing, you’ll have the chance to experience a fun-packed programme from dawn until dusk during the school holidays, with something to suit every family member. Your family break includes accommodation, three hearty meals a day and a packed programme of pre-arranged daytime and evening activities, meaning you can get straight to the action from the minute you arrive on centre. So whether you’re planning a break for yourself and the kids, looking to travel with family friends or solo parenting, PGL’s experienced team will take care of everything, allowing you to make the most of your precious family time together. 2-, 3- or 4-night breaks are available, with prices starting from £135 per child and £145 per adult.
PGL Family Activity Days
Just visiting for the day? Pack your day out with a punch during the school holidays and experience an action-filled day out for all the family, with a PGL Family Activity Day at Barton Hall in Devon. Experience three exhilarating activities plus a delicious hot lunch to make sure you are refuelled ready for an afternoon of adventure. With activities including giant swing, archery, zip wire and high ropes on offer, it’s a fantastic way to get a taste of the PGL magic ahead of booking a longer break later in the year. Family Activity Days are priced at £55 per person (adult or child).

Looking to bring your youth or uniform group on a group adventure camp? PGL provides an exhilarating residential experience for 7- to 17-year-olds, offering a mix of adventure activities designed to inspire, motivate and bring out the best in your young people. How to find us
PGL Barton Hall, Kingskerswell Road, Torquay, Devon TQ2 8JY
NB. Due to extensive, narrow lanes as you approach the centre please do not follow Sat Nav directions. The directions below should be followed:
From the North
Follow the M5 South. At Junction 31 keep right and join the A38. After 2 miles keep left and follow the A380, signposted Torquay. After a further 9 miles, at the ‘Penn Inn Junction’, keep right and follow the A380 signposted Torquay. Follow for approx. 3 miles and turn left onto the A3022, signposted Torquay, at the ‘Edginswell’ junction. Follow the A3022 to the right through the first set of traffic lights. Turn left at the 2nd set of traffic lights onto Kingskerswell Road and follow the brown ‘ski’ signs until you reach PGL Barton Hall on your right.
From the South
Follow local directions via Paignton or Newton Abbot towards Torquay from the A38. Join the A3022 at the ‘Edginswell’ junction traffic lights. Then follow the directions as above to the centre.
