About
Orestone Manor is an elegant yet contemporary country house hotel. Nestling in lovely grounds on the rural fringe of Torbay, the hotel offers superb service and sweeping sea views.
Once the home of John Horsley, the Victorian artist who is remembered for designing the first Christmas card, the hotel provides a nostalgic and warm feeling of history and decadence. The style of the house is faintly colonial.
All fourteen character bedrooms are unique in size and decor, and have all been lovingly refurbished using the very finest fabrics, wallpaper and fittings.
Our superior rooms are larger and more spacious than the Classic grades. Situated on either the first or second floor these 3 rooms are stylishly appointed. Each features a spacious ensuite bathroom, with typically a shower overhead. These rooms have either direct or partial sea views from some aspect of the room or balcony area.
Deluxe bedrooms - Wonderful bedrooms with key stand out features. These rooms are all located on the prime first floor with elegant ensuites bathrooms with separate bath and shower. All the rooms at Orestone are very individual, and the all the feature rooms have some unique key features, whether it be a balcony, sleigh bed, roll top bath or bathroom with sea view. Perfect for a longer stay or special occasion.
Suites - The very finest rooms in the hotel. Each room is very individual and you can be assured of some wow stand out features. Each of the Suites have prime sea views, separate sitting area and some even have private outdoor hot tubs. Choose from either our Sandard Suite with sea view - the Horsley Suite in the main house or our Deluxe Suites with sea views and hot tubs - The Garden room with period four poster bed and private Jacuzzi® hot tub, or one of our brand new contemporary split level Coach House Suites.
Standard sea-view rooms - A step up from the entry level grade. These rooms are also located on the top floor offering spectacular views over the garden and out to sea. These character rooms are also very individual but have the snug sloped ceilings.
Standard bedrooms - Our entry level room grade, the Standard rooms are located on the top floor in the eaves of the hotel. Both rooms offer brand new ensuite bathrooms, and ample storage / wardrobe space. As with all the rooms at Orestone Manor, these rooms are very individual, with one enjoying a small outside terrace.
The Orestone Manor Restaurant is open to both hotel guests and locals who'd like to come in and experience the culinary delights we have on offer. Our passion for food is everything you'd expect in a hotel owned by a couple of chefs. With an emphasis on modern European food, our kitchen brigade works hard to source the finest fresh ingredients.
We can cater for certain allergens, but please let us know when you book, as this may restrict your options on the day. We happily cater for vegetarians, with several delicious options available each evening. While the choice isn’t as wide as our full menu, it’s just as appetising! Unfortunately, we currently don’t offer vegan or dairy-free options for Afternoon Tea.
