The Haytor Hotel Torquay is an elegant detached Victorian Villa built in the 1830's and set in beautiful gardens, the Haytor Hotel offers an excellent bed & breakfast in Torquay.
It is located in a conservation area on leafy and peaceful Meadfoot Road just 400 metres from central Torquay and the harbour with its many bars, restaurants and shops. A short walk the other way takes you to the award-winning Meadfoot Beach and coastal paths with stunning bay views.

The Haytor Hotel Torquay provides luxury accommodation in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. We do not normally cater for children under twelve.
The Location
Although only 400 metres from the lively centre of Torquay, the Haytor Hotel is situated in a peaceful conservation area on green and pleasant Meadfoot Road, which leads from the Harbour to Meadfoot Bay through the most exclusive and sought-after area of town.
The peaceful atmosphere is enhanced and protected by the mature gardens and trees which surround the hotel, and which guests can enjoy from the hotel's terrace.
Breakfast
A full traditional English Breakfast, with Vegetarian, lighter or continental options available, is served in the elegantly decorated breakfast room overlooking the hotel gardens. For those in a rush, a number of early bird breakfast options are available, whilst, a Continental breakfast can be delivered to your room for those preferring to lie in.
Bar Lounge
In the evening you can relax in the licensed bar offering a wide choice of beers and lagers as well as a comprehensive selection of wines, spirits and liqueurs.
The Terrace
On a warm evening many guests prefer to take their refreshments out onto the terrace, where the peaceful atmosphere of the house extends. Here they can write postcards, immerse themselves in a novel, admire the hotel gardens, or just watch the Sun go down over Torquay.
The Garden
We have a large garden complete with pond, benches and a pleasant space to enjoy a drink. The garden is situated to the side and back of the hotel, providing a quiet space to reflect and contemplate.
Luxury Torquay Accommodation
All rooms in the Haytor Hotel have been refurbished and are fully en-suite and come complete with luxury toiletries. Each room has remote controlled digital flat screen television incorporating freeview and radio, a hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities with biscuits. Central heating radiators have individual thermostatic controls. The hotel's broadband wireless network is available at no charge. Views vary depending on the room, with some having garden views, others having glimpses of the sea or views of the town.
Premier Kingsize and Premier Twin en-suite Bedrooms
Our Premier King Sized and Twin Rooms are located on the ground and first floor. These are generously sized rooms, luxuriously furnished and decorated to an exceptionally high standard. The en-suites have either large sized shower or shower over bath. Affordable luxury at its very best.
Superior Kingsize en-suite Bedroom
The Superior Kingsize room is situated on the first floor of the hotel and adds a more luxurious feel to the facilities featured in our double rooms. The bathroom features a large shower cubicle.
Executive Double en-suite Bedroom
The Executive Double room is on the first floor and, in addition to the facilities of the other double rooms, this room benefits from views over the hotel gardens to the town. Beautifully refurbished, this room comes with a Kingsize bed. The bathroom features a bath with an overhead shower.
Standard Double en-suite Bedrooms
These rooms are available for both single and double occupancy, with discounted rates available for single use. Double En-suite rooms are located on the ground, first and second floors, most have showers, although two have baths instead.
Payment by cash and debit card is accepted and is free. Most major credit cards are also accepted. We do not accept Diners Club or American Express. Payment in full is normally due on arrival, however special offers require payment in full at time of booking. Prices include VAT at the current rate. Prices quoted are for bookings made directly with the hotel, bookings made via third parties may incur commission charges.
Should you need to cancel, part-cancel, or alter your booking, please inform the hotel immediately. Provided that notice is received 3 days (per room booked, e.g. a booking for 2 rooms would require 2 x 3 days = 6 days notice) before your scheduled arrival date – then a £25 admin fee will apply. If notice of change or cancellation is received after this time, full payment will be due but will be refunded if the room is re-let for the full period, less an admin fee of £25.00

Traveling from the North / East
At the end of the M5 (Southbound) (Junction 31) continue forwards and the road becomes the A38 (Devon Expressway) towards Plymouth.
After a couple of minutes the road divides.
Take the slight left fork signposted A380 Torquay, continue onto the A380.
After a little under 10 miles, keep Right, continue on Besigheim Way / Penn Inn Flyover / A380. Continue to follow A380.
In 1 mile, keep Right and continue on South Devon Highway/A380.
In 2.1 miles, keep Left and continue on South Devon Highway.
In 0.2 mile turn Left onto Hamelin Way, then turn Right onto Riviera Way/A3022 and follow A3022 (following signs to Seafront/Harbour when they appear).
In 1.7 miles take slight left onto Newton Road.
In 0.3 miles turn Right onto South Street, then continue onto Belgrave Road
At the Seafront, take a Left (not hard Left) onto Torbay Road / A379 along the Seafront (with sea on your Right) and drive past the Princess Theatre (on your Right).
At the roundabout (either lane), take the 1st exit onto Cary Parade/A379, follow the road as it curves left, past Hoopers / Debenhams (on your Left), and then at the next roundabout (with the Clock Tower) (Left lane), take the 1st exit onto Torwood Street / A379.
At the lights (Right lane), turn right onto Parkhill Road, follow the road as it bends to the left onto Meadfoot Road.
The hotel is 200 yards after the bend, on the Right.
Traveling from the West
In Totnes, travel East (towards Exeter/Torquay) on the A385
The A385 becomes Totnes Road then Five Lanes Road. Around 5 miles from the centre of Totnes, at the roundabout (crossing the A380) go straight on (2nd exit) onto Preston Down Road
In 0.1 mile at the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on Preston Down Road
In 1.2 miles Preston Down Road turns Right and becomes Sandringham Gardens
In 0.2 miles continue onto Upper Headland Park Road
In 0.1 miles turn Left onto Hilton Drive
In 0.1 miles turn Left onto Cockington Lane
In 0.1 miles continue onto Old Paignton Road
In 0.2 miles turn Right onto Broadpark Road
In 0.4 miles turn Left onto Livermead Hill
In 0.1 miles turn Right to stay on Livermead Hill
In 0.1 miles turn Right onto Cockington Lane
Turn Left onto Torbay Road / A3022, which becomes A379. This road runs along the Seafront (with sea on your Right) and eventually you drive past the Princess Theatre (on your Right).
At the roundabout (either lane), take the 1st exit onto Cary Parade / A379, follow the road as it curves left, past Hoopers / Debenhams (on your Left), and then at the next roundabout (with the Clock Tower) (Left lane), take the 1st exit onto Torwood Street / A379.

For SatNav, use TQ1 2JP. A few rogue Satnavs take you to Meadfoot Lane, rather than Meadfoot Road, don’t worry, you are still very close …
If you arrived at the SatNav’s destination by driving UP Meadfoot Lane, continue to the end of Meadfoot Lane, turn hard Left at the junction, the Hotel will be on the left after about 50 metres (just after the bend in the road.
If you arrived at the SatNav’s destination by driving DOWN Meadfoot Lane (or have turned around), continue to the end of Meadfoot Lane, turn Right at the junction, then second Right, the Hotel will be on the Right after about 200 metres.
You should have no issues finding us, however if you do take a wrong turn and get lost in Torquay, stop (it will help if you can find the Seafront if possible), work out roughly where you are and which way you are pointing (look for road names, nearby hotels / shops etc.), and phone us on 01803 294708 and we can guide you in.

At the lights, turn left into Torbay Road and follow the coastline (on your right) towards the Harbour, passing the Princess Theatre. • At the first roundabout, bear left and follow the road to the next roundabout which has a clocktower in the centre. Turn left at the roundabout into Babbacombe Road and at the first set of lights turn right into Parkhill Road. • Follow Parkhill Road which shortly changes to Meadfoot Road. The hotel is situated approximately 150 meters ahead on the right hand side.
