Brixham has been a charming and picturesque working fishing port for centuries, with characteristic fisherman’s cottages clustered around the historic harbour where Prince William of Orange landed in 1688. The town has many attractive, winding narrow streets with colourful cottages, a wide selection of shops, art gallery, craft shops and various cafés, restaurants, pubs and churches. Brixham’s beaches are a mixture of sand, shingle and large pebbles, and the popular open-air sea water swimming pool is surrounded by a shingle and rock beach, which is always popular for rock pooling.
