About

If you are looking for a small, friendly guest house with a relaxing and homely atmosphere close to the town and beaches then look no further than Ashleigh House.

Built in 1852, Ashleigh House is a beautiful Victorian villa of enormous character and charm uniquely situated in a quiet residential part of Torquay yet just a five minute walk from the Harbour and shops. Meadfoot Lane is restricted to Residents and guests only making it virtually traffic free and guaranteeing peace and quiet. Despite its quiet location everything that Torquay has to offer is within easy walking distance. Many guests choose to have a holiday from driving as the shops, beaches, restaurants, café bars, tourist attractions and Theatres are all close at hand. Indeed, four of Torquay’s best restaurants are within a ten minute walk .

Ashleigh House has been owned by the Smale family since 1992 and in those years has established a reputation for comfort, cleanliness, hospitality and good food at ‘value for money’ prices. Many guests return year after year and have become friends.

We offer just four rooms which ensures personal attention and a homely atmosphere. There are three rooms with ensuite and one large family room with private bathroom. The rooms are comfortably furnished and come complete with colour TV, clock radio, beverage tray and towels. The rooms are cleaned daily.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and here at Ashleigh House we take breakfast seriously. There is a selection of cereals and fruit juice and a choice of teas and coffees. Guests can either choose the Full English Breakfast or go for a Light Breakfast choice from the menu. Each is freshly cooked to order.

There is a wonderful lounge available to guests which has a wide screen TV and a selection of family films, just in case it rains. A comprehensive local information guide will help to choose the days activities and there really is a lot to do.

We also have a small garden at the front of the house, with views across Torquay and towards Dartmoor, where guests are welcome to sit and take in the evening sun and perhaps chat with the friendly neighbours.

So, if you are looking for a small, friendly guest house with a relaxing and homely atmosphere then join us here at Ashleigh House.

We look forward to sharing our beautiful home with you
