About Us

Tusker Lodge is a small family run guest house, offering guests a friendly and informal atmosphere. The guest house is in a superb location, with a pretty south east facing sun-terrace, overlooking Torwood Gardens, and is only 400 meters from the harbour, the strand, shops and The Princess Theatre, and close to the beach and seafront. Within walking distance is the coastal path, which leads to Beacon Cove, Meadfoot, Hope Cove, Ansteys Cove, Babbacombe Beach and Oddicombe Beach. The Natural History Museum is almost adjacent to the hotel and Torbay’s famous Model Village is at the other end of Babbacombe Road, just a short bus ride away.

Road Directions

By Car - From the M5 southbound continue on to the A38 for 2.4 miles. Merge left onto A380 via the ramp to Torquay for 10.1 miles. At the roundabout, continue on the A380 by taking the second exit and continue for 2.9 miles. At the roundabout take the first exit on to Riviera Way/A3022 and continue for 2.6 miles. At the traffic lights at the end of the road turn left to follow the seafront (not sharp left) on to Torbay Road/A379. Follow the road turning left at the first roundabout which will take you through the town centre, turn left at the second roundabout into Torwood Street, go straight over at the traffic lights, just before the second turning on the left (Museum Road) Tusker Lodge can be found on the left.

Public Transport Directions

By Train – Torquay has two railway stations, Torquay railway station which is 1.3 miles ~ 6 minutes by car, 30 minutes on foot, and Torre railway station which is 2 miles ~ 7 minutes by car, 32 minutes on foot (note: not all trains stop at Torre)
By Air – The nearest Airport is Exeter International Airport which is about 26 miles away ~ approximately 40 minutes by car.
Two bus routes operated by Stagecoach Devon pass through Torquay – The “Bayline” number 12 service between Newton Abbot and Brixham, and the X46 service between Exeter and Paignton.
Other routes operate within the town.
