About Us

The Commodore is ideally situated on Paignton sea front, with rooms and a guest lounge over looking Paignton green, the pier and the sandy beach.

Our aim is to give you a comfortable bed, relaxed surroundings and a breakfast to keep you going throughout the day. With Free Private off road parking, and being a short walk away from the harbour, bus and rail stations, it is a great place to leave the car and from which to explore the greater Devon area. Paignton is brilliant for families and their K9 companions, so we do welcome children and dogs.All of our rooms are fully ensuite, have complimentary tea & coffee making facilities, toiletries, Free Wifi and plenty of electrical sockets for all your gadgets.

We are close to The Pirate Bay Crazy Golf, Piagnton Beach, Goodrington Beach, Preston Beach, Shops, Amusements, Piagnton Pier, Paignton Harbour, Restaurants, Cafe's and Pubs. Public Transport Directions

From Paignton Bus and Railway Stations - 5 minutes walk Head straight down main 'Torbay road', turning right at the Vue cinema complex end, the hotel is on the right-hand-side, opposite the 'Pirate Bay Crazy Golf'.

By road:-

Direct Route  Follow the M5 to the end of the motorway. The dual carriage way forks at Junction 31, Stay in the right hand lanes, sign posted A38 and A380 to Plymouth & Torquay. Just after the Kenn Ford Services, the road forks again. This time take the Left Fork sign posted A380 Torquay & Paignton. Continue forward onto Besigheim Way, go straight across the new flyover, get into the right hand lane and turn right onto Hamelin Way. At Gallows Gate roundabout, go straight across onto Hellevoetsluis Way. At the Five Lanes roundabout turn left onto Preston Down Road (signposted Occombe Farm and Preston), follow the road all the way to the bottom of the hill to the traffic lights. Continue straight across, into Seaway Road following it under the railway bridge around to the right along Marine Drive and onto Esplanade Road. The Commodore is at the Far (Southern end) of Esplanade Road, just before the harbour. Go past the large white Apollo Cinema complex on the left and take the right turn opposite the Pirates Bay Crazy Golf, into Adelphi Road. Turn left in front of the Terrace of Guest Houses and park in the car park directly in front of The Commodore.

 

Scenic Route Follow the M5 to the end of the motorway. The dual carriage way forks at Junction 31, Stay in the right hand lane, sign posted A38 and A380 to Plymouth & Torquay. Just after the Kenn Ford Services, the road forks again. This time take the Left Fork sign posted A380 Torquay & Paignton. Take left-hand lanes for the A380 (signposted Torquay).After about 2 miles turn off left towards Teignmouth on the B3192. Follow this road until you get to a T junction with traffic lights. Stay in the right hand lane and turn right onto the A381 sign posted Newton Abbot. At the next set of traffic lights turn left towards Shaldon. This is the A379 and takes you across the Teign estuary. Follow the windy road along, passing through St Marychurch and Babbacombe until you get to Torquay Harbour side and sea front, follow the signs to Paignton and Paignton Sea front. At Preston you turn left (signposted Sea Front) into Seaway Road following it under the railway bridge around to the right along Marine Drive and onto Esplanade Road. The Commodore is at the Far (Southern end) of Esplanade Road, just before the harbour. Go past the large white Vue Cinema complex on the left and take the right turn opposite the Pirates Crazy Golf, into Adelphi Road. Turn left in front of the Terrace of Guest Houses and park in the car park directly in front of The Commodore.
