We welcome you to the Charterhouse, a beautiful Edwardian building retaining much of its original charm surrounded by sub-tropical gardens in a quiet country lane. Located in an enviable position, just a 100 yards away from the small sandy beach of Livermead yet, also within a stone’s throw of the Water Meadows leading to Cockington Country Park and its Saxon thatched village. We offer a large free car park so you can leave your car behind or use the excellent transport services all within easy reach. Torquay train station is within half a mile and the regular bus service which runs throughout the Bay is also very close by.

The Charterhouse is truly an ideal place to unwind and relax and leave your stress behind. For those more adventurous use it as a base to visit the delights of Torbay and the surrounding areas. Either way we will be on hand to help you make the most of your stay and offer tips and advice on local restaurants, activities and attractions.

Start the day with one of of our delicious breakfasts offering a generous continental selection and a hearty traditional English cooked breakfast. Enjoy a dip in our small heated outdoor pool, relax on our lawns or take a walk along the seafront into Torquay town centre, the choice is yours. Why not spoil yourselves with a little extra luxury and enjoy the sea views from the comfort of one of our refurbished Superior Rooms? Families are also well catered for with the security of interconnecting rooms and a seperate digital flat screen TV just for the kids. For those wishing to bring a small pet dog along with them, we can offer one of our two garden rooms. If you need to keep in touch with work or friends you are able to do so with our free wi fi service.
