We offer great value, friendly and comfortable accommodation and are just a stone’s throw away from Torquay's award-winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that the English Riviera and surrounding area has to offer.  Here at the Riviera Hotel we offer fantastic value for all our guests, whether you are travelling on business, visiting with family or as part of a group.  Whether you’re planning a short getaway, mid-week break or a longer family holiday you can be assured of a warm welcome and an amazing time.

We have a fully equipped gym, including treadmill, bike, cross trainer, rower, multi-gym, bench and weights, an indoor pool and jacuzzi. These facilities are free to guests staying in the hotel and gym and spa memberships are also available too.

Our guest accommodation comprises of 145 en-suite bedrooms with digital flat screen TV’s and tea and coffee making facilities.  Our range of guest rooms include singles, doubles, twins, triple and large family rooms.

Our restaurant caters for those who love traditional, quality cuisine.  Our Chefs will carve for you either a delicious home cooked joint or you can choose from our market day special or our vegetarian option. You can then help yourself to a variety of freshly cooked vegetables and potatoes.  To follow, there is a mouth-watering choice of hot and cold desserts on offer. After dinner why not join us in The Show Bar for the evening’s entertainment, including bingo followed by a live cabaret act.

Alternatively, make your way to the Sports Bar where there are numerous drinks promotions all year round. Enjoy an after-dinner drink and catch the latest Sky or BT sports game showing on one of our large flat screen TV’s including our popular outside TV set, perfect on a balmy summers evening.  The Sports Bar also has pool tables and dart boards if you fancy some friendly competition with your family members.  

Our popular Sunday Carvery Lunch is served between 12pm and 3pm and there is a wide selection of mouth-watering slow-cooked meats, accompanied by fresh seasonal vegetable dishes, hand cut roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and a choice of gravy or sauces. We offer a loyalty card scheme so that as a regular customer you can get your 9th carvery with us absolutely free!

BOOK DIRECT and receive complimentary car parking.  The car park is also open to the public where parking charges apply and can be paid at the hotel reception.

The hotel is located within a short 5-minute walk (0.4 miles) of Torre Abbey Sands, a popular family-friendly beach; 2019 Green-Flag awarded Princess Gardens and Royal Terrace Gardens, known locally as Rock Walk (0.7 miles) and Princess Theatre for night-time shows. 

Riviera Hotel is also ideally situated to access the English Riviera’s top visitor attractions on foot including The Real Crime Museum and Escape Rooms (1 mile).  Go back in time at Kent's Cavern where you'll discover prehistoric caves, recognised as the oldest human dwelling in Britain and on the doorstep in nearby Wellswood (2 miles), a pleasant leafy district in Torquay. Torre Abbey Museum (0.3 miles) is a historic house and garden with a fascinating museum and art collection. It is the oldest building in Torquay, with a story spanning 800 years and was once the most important Abbey of its kind in England. 

There is also an array of visitor attractions to keep the whole family entertained in neighbouring town of Paignton! You could visit Paignton Zoo (of TV fame) or for those feeling more adventurous you'll find Splashdown @ Quaywest, a waterpark with the renowned near-vertical 'devils drop' waterslide for the most daring. Back in Torquay, why not pay a visit to Babbacombe Model Village where you can experience Torbay in miniature.

For holidaymakers looking to enjoy the beach life, the English Riviera will leave you spoilt for choice. Along the English Riviera’s coastline there are 20 top beaches to choose from, ranging from wide sandy beaches through to private, secluded coves.  10 of the resort's beaches have received the prestigious Blue Flag and Seaside Awards, some of the best in the Westcountry and the entire UK.

There are 22 miles of stunning coastline, rugged cliffs, picturesque coves and beaches and walks to rival any in the South West of England, with a climate that belongs somewhere much further south. This unique and fascinating area forms part of the famous South West Coast Path and is also a UNESCO Global Geopark, one of only 7 in the UK and 140 in the whole world. There are endless possibilities for safe swimming, diving, sailing, angling and other outdoor activities and a chance to study the natural wildlife at your leisure.

Stunning views are to be seen just about everywhere across the Bay, out over the English Channel, along the 40 miles of Lyme Bay to Portland Bill or inland towards the Tors of Dartmoor. Torquay is an ideal base from which to visit Dartmouth (20.5 miles), Totnes (8.4 miles), Exeter (21.9 miles) and Plymouth (33 miles), all of which are within each reach by road.

Dartmouth Steam Railway Boat & River Company offers boat trips to Brixham (8 miles) and Dartmouth. Stagecoach buses and the local railway will get you to all other towns in South Devon and beyond. The steam railway is well worth a trip, where you can experience a steam train ride across viaducts and through wooded valleys, arriving in the picturesque town of Dartmouth with its quaint art galleries and famous castle.
