There is always lots going on in Torquay. For smaller groups, if you want to stay somewhere peaceful, but still close to all the action, look for apartments and hotels in Torquay’s leafy side streets. Groups of up to six people can stay in one apartment at the spacious self-catering Villa Capri in Torquay. And it’s just a 10-minute walk into the centre of the town and harbour.

For groups who want different things

Do some of your group want to self cater while others want the hotel experience? For groups who want to do different things book into The Cary Arms in Babbacombe and choose from rooms in the hotel or one of four cute self-catering cottages. You’ll have the option to enjoy the award-winning menu at the hotel’s restaurant and there’s a spa offering lots of pampering treats. It’s also right on the beach and on the coast path, so it’s perfect for groups who want to spend time outside together.

The ideal place for a family celebration

Are you celebrating a special anniversary or family event? Gather everyone together in our choice of self-catering holiday homes suited to larger groups. Broadshade Holiday Apartments in Paignton is a modern block of six self-catering apartments. It’s ideal if you want to stay together, but also want your own family space.

Or if you’re looking for somewhere that screams ‘traditional Devon countryside’ take a look at the Pilgrim’s Rest holiday cottages Torquay. There are three 5-star cottages to choose from. Even better, if you’re staying with other family members you can let them look after the kids while you enjoy the onsite spa treatments or walk to the nearby pub. There’s a giant trampoline at the cottages – so everyone is sure to be happy. And a babysitting service can also be arranged.

Caravan buddies

If you don’t all want to be under one roof but do want to be close together, you could enjoy the shared facilities at one of the English Riviera’s holiday parks. There’s the family run Beverley Bay at Goodrington, Paignton, which has a wide choice of caravans, including dog-friendly caravans. There’s evening entertainment that you can enjoy together and a swimming pool for hanging out during the day.

Or stay at South Bay Holiday Park in Brixham. Your group can get together by the heated indoor and outdoor pool or lay down the challenge for a round of crazy golf before retiring to your own caravan at the end of the day.
