   Marston’s is celebrating the joy of reading with a limited-edition Matilda-inspired menu and programme of exciting events this February Half-Term and Easter 

   Families can surround themselves in the marvellous world of Matilda with new dishes including Miss Trunchbull’s Mighty Meatballs, Miss Honey’s Honeycomb Sundae and Matilda’s Mischievous Munch Box.

   Marston’s has partnered with The Roald Dahl Story Company and Quentin Blake to make mealtimes marvellous, bringing one of the most-loved children's book characters to life in a new way, through a limited-edition Matilda menu. Our partnership will launch in February, just in time for the half term.

   Matilda’s Mischievous Munch Box will add a dash of mischief and a sprinkle of magic to meals out, with a choice of sandwiches, crisps, a Robinsons Fruit Shoot and an ice cream sundae to finish. Each Munch Box will come with a Matilda-themed game pack to keep little geniuses busy, plus a voucher allowing them to return and dine again for just £1*.

   For bigger appetites, Miss Trunchbull’s Mighty Meatballs features pork and beef meatballs with penne pasta and a cunningly hidden veg and tomato sauce, topped with cheese. For dessert, Miss Honey’s Honeycomb Ice Cream is a little bit sweet and a whole lot delicious, as vanilla ice cream is topped with toffee sauce, honeycomb pieces and sugar curl wafers for dunking.

    Making sure adults don’t miss out on the mischief, Marston’s has recreated the iconic Bruce Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Cake Sharer, which is available as a dessert from the adults menu. To celebrate, Marston’s is giving pub-goers the chance to win tickets to a special 30th anniversary screening of Matilda at the Royal Albert Hall. All they need to do is post a picture of them tucking into the cake on social media between 17th February and 19th April, tagging their local pub and using the hashtag #MarstonsBruceBogtrotterCake**.

    As well as introducing the new menu, venues will also be hosting a series of special themed events, taking place from February to April. Matilda’s Marvellous Party will see locations host crafts, party games and more on Friday 20th/Saturday 21st February, and on Friday 10th/Saturday 11th April. 

   On Friday 6th March, venues will be holding Matilda’s Mischievous After School Party, where kids will be able to eat for just £1. Over the Easter weekend, venues will be hosting Matilda’s Marvellous Easter Hunt, tasking keen spellers with a hunt to find letters that will spell a Matilda-themed word.

   The limited-edition Matilda-inspired menu will be available in participating Marston’s pubs until 19th April.
