About

Love Brixham

Love Fish Town. Love harbour life, being beside the water, on the water and in the water. Love fishing boats, pleasure boats, kayaks, SUPS, tall ships and heritage trawlers. Love open water swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and Shoalstone Pool. Love spotting seals, dolphins and swans in the harbour plus the occasional (basking) shark. Love Breakwater Beach, St Mary’s Bay, Fishcombe and Churston Coves. Love the lifeboat station, the volunteers and the RNLI keeping us all safe.

Love super fresh seafood, fish of all sorts, crabs, lobsters and mussels and the many great restaurants, pubs, cafes and takeaways where you can order them with a drink or two and chill out. Love coffee, cake and ice creams, fish and chips and people watching with turnstones under your feet, gannets plummeting from on high and herring gulls stealing someone else’s chips (not so much when it happens to you!). Love independent shops, markets, artists and craft makers, community theatre, quaint streets with murals on the gable ends.

Love the Golden Hind, the Pirate Festival, bands on stage under the Old Fish Market and dancing on the Quay. Love heritage festivals, Brixham Museum, Brixham Battery and D-Day embarkations. Love lanterns, lights and illuminations, Christmas markets, mulled wine, mulled cider and hot chocolate. Love All Saints Church, Abide With Me and the Reverend Francis Lyte.

Love Cow Town, rolling Devon hills, birds in the hedgerows, lambs, cows and horses in the fields and bracing country walks. Love Berry Head Nature Reserve and Napoleonic Forts, Sharkham Point, Churston Woods, Lupton Park and the South West Coastal Path.

Love community spirit, people coming together for the good of the town, its inhabitants, its visitors and for the benefit of others further afield.

Love the most glorious sunrises and the most spectacular sunsets when the sky is a blaze of colour for as far as you can see.

Love a great place to live, a great place to work and a great place to visit.

Love Devon. Love The English Riviera. But most of all, Love Brixham!
