Restaurants

We’ve got restaurants in the English Riviera that have been the favourite haunts of locals and visitors alike for many years. But we’re also witnessing an explosion of fantastic new restaurants popping up. It’s all because top chefs from around the country are being lured to the English Riviera by the high quality of local produce that’s available and in particular the world class fresh fish landed at Brixham. You’ll find a fantastic choice of restaurants across Torbay including Torquay, Babbacombe, Paignton and Brixham.

Torquay Abbey Sands on the seafront in Torquay is fast becoming Torquay’s latest foodie hotspot. Here you will find great independent restaurants including The Bay working alongside national brands including Bistrot Pierre and Las Iguanas. Or stroll along to the Marina area and Torquay Harbour for a pick of first-class restaurants located right beside the yachts and boats, including Pier Point, The Elephant, Number Seven, the Orange Tree and the Old Vienna. In the heart of Torquay, you will also find the award-winning Meat 59 restaurant.

Brixham’s harbour area is also home to this new wave of restaurants including Olive and Rockfish Brixham alongside long-standing favourites including Beamers and The Prince William.

In Paignton, dine by the beach at The Boathouse and Shoreline.

Fine dining and Michelin stars

If you’re a committed foodie who likes nothing more than lingering over a meal prepared by an award winning chef, then you can take your pick in Torbay. Savour Michelin-starred fare at The Elephant in Torquay. Or linger over lunch at an AA rosette or Taste of the West winner like Restaurant 1881 at The Grand Hotel, Torquay or The Orange Tree restaurant in Torquay.

Independent eateries

Torbay is home to many fabulous independent restaurants, where you’ll receive a more individual approach to dining and great service. Cosy atmosphere, character and a commitment to using fresh, local produce makes these independents stand out for all the right reasons.

Restaurants for the family

Our winning combination of sea, sand and smiles makes Torbay an enduringly popular destination for all ages. So it’s no surprise that many of our restaurants go out of their way to cater for the whole family. Some, like the Cary Arms in Babbacombe go even further and even welcome your trusty pet dog.

After a busy day making sandcastles, shopping, or exploring our many local attractions you’ll be in need of refreshment. You’ll be spoilt for choice with our fantastic array of restaurants in Torbay that will suit every taste and budget. You can enjoy globally-inspired dishes from far afield as Nepal and China as well as traditional English favourites. And you can savour each mouthful at an award-winning restaurant or grab a quick pizza at the beach and go. Search our restaurant finder to discover restaurants to suit every taste.

Or look for restaurants near to the kid’s favourite places to visit. Aqua Lounge at the Riviera International Centre offers everything from health-conscious smoothies and snacks to lunch. Take advantage of their dip and dine menu for a great value meal after working up an appetite in the popular Waves pool with indoor flume
