What are the English Riviera Airshow 2022 Displays?

The Blades display team top the latest list, which already includes the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Chinook helicopter alongside the Red Arrows. Free-fallers from the Tigers Parachute Display Team and the Strikemaster classic jet will also be joined by the Pitts Special aerobatic biplane and two vintage Russian-built Yakovlev Yak 50s.

The Tigers are the flagship team for the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment. They will drop into the bay, smoke trailing, flags flying, performing amazing formations both in the air and under the parachute. An English Riviera Airshow favourite, the BAC Strikemaster will also be soaring over the Bay to delight crowds.

A British jet-powered training and light-attack aircraft first flown in 1967, the Strikemaster was a development of the Hunting Jet Provost trainer, which itself was a development of the 1950’s Percival Provost.

The Pitts Special S-2 dominated world aerobatic competition in the 1960s and 1970s, and today remains a potent competition aircraft. Flown by Rich Goodwin, the Pitts Special is emblazoned with a union jack, perfect for the Jubilee weekend.
