Where to eat in Paignton by the beach

Soft sand and a gently shelving sea draws the crowds to Paignton beaches. Luckily you won’t have to give up your spot in the sun when it comes to lunchtime. You’ll find handy beach kiosks serving snacks right beside the beaches, including Preston Beach and Broadsands. If you’re still at Goodrington Beach at the end of the day, give The View at Goodrington a try. This laid back restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and serves favourites including pizza and pasta. And there’s no need to dress for dinner – flip-flops are welcome!

Places to eat in Paignton for locally-grown, home-made food

With the sea and rolling Devon hills on its doorstep, Paignton has no shortage of delicious, locally grown food. Snacks and lunches made from local produce for an authentic taste of Devon. Or grab a takeaway to enjoy as a picnic when you’re out and about.

If you love seafood, you’ll love the freshness of fish and shellfish landed just across Torbay in Brixham.

Vintage-style high tea

Paignton enjoys a real vintage vibe. Hop on board the Dartmouth Steam Railway at the station in the town. You can continue the vintage theme with afternoon tea at Paignton’s Cupcake Café. This boutique café offers a fine selection of homemade cakes and scones in cosy surroundings.
