Brixham Places to Eat

If you’re talking about places to eat in Brixham, you need to mention the seafood. After all, you can’t get closer to the source of delicious, fresh fish thanks to the Fish Market. But if fish is not your thing, you won’t be disappointed. From sophisticated restaurants to quirky cafes, Brixham is earning a reputation as a foodie haven that satisfies every taste.

Local-grown produce for a taste of Devon

There’s a real commitment amongst Brixham restaurants to use fresh, locally sourced produce as much as possible. Churston Farm Shop is not just the place to go to pick up local food to enjoy at home. They also run a restaurant, serving up award winning produce throughout the day, including a very popular Sunday lunch. The Curious Kitchen is committed to using fresh, local produce and provide seasonal menus.

Cuisine from around the world

Brixham also offers a range of international dining experiences including Miguels Spanish Tapas, The Pepper Shack for an authentic taste of the Caribbean and Albero’s, for a slice of Italy in the heart of the town together with the eastern delights of The Balti Night.

Feasting with the family

Let your little ones work up an appetite with a run around Berry Head Nature Reserve. They can play at being soldiers in the Napoleonic fortress before you march them into The Guardhouse Café. You’ll find delicious, top-quality locally sourced food served here with everything from breakfast and lunch to cakes and ice cream on offer. Just down the hill, The Berry Head Hotel offers some of the best views in the Bay with the choice of a la carte fine dining in the restaurant or The View Brasserie for a more informal experience.

Or book into the Breakwater Bistro. The kids can practice bouncing stones over the water from the beach and you can savour the stunning views. From steak to sandwiches, there’s choice to suit even the fussiest eater and the kid’s menu offers great value for money.

Where to eat in Brixham for an afternoon treat

Whether you’re taking a break from some retail therapy in the craft shops, or you’ve worked up an appetite on a boat trip across the bay, afternoon tea is a great way to revive yourself. If you’ve set your heart on indulgence, try the mouth-watering cakes at Liberty Tea parlour and Cocktail bar. This quirky café beside the harbour offers refined elegance and is just the place for a catch up with family or friends. Or sample the fabulous homemade cupcakes at The Bay Coffee Company Brixham.

A taste of the sea in Brixham restaurants

The hub of England’s Seafood Coast, fish is big business in Brixham. Enjoy locally caught fish served up in batter with a hearty splash of vinegar at one of Brixham’s fish and chip takeaways, like Rockfish Brixham. Or head up the stairs to Rockfish Brixham’s refined restaurant, which boasts one of the best views from its terrace of the fishing boasts as they come and go.

Beamers Seafood Restaurant is another recommended place to eat in Brixham. Run by a local couple, who go and take their pick of the day’s catch at the Fish Market each morning, you can be sure only the finest, freshest produce will make it to their menu. Book a window table and you can look out onto the harbour too to complete your maritime experience. Fish goes straight from sea to plate at this popular restaurant, which is located right on the Quay.

The choice of restaurants in Brixham means there’s something to keep everyone happy. Search now to find your new favourite.
