About
Built in the 1880’s, this landmark property in Brixham which was the former church hall, now boasts a stunning, modern interior with period features throughout.
Resting on Milton Street just a mile from the harbour and town centre, No.1 The Old Chapel is a beautiful old stone building with distinctive architectural features that nod to its former purpose as a church. Step inside however, and there’s a sense of drama and grandeur in the chic double volume entrance hall, where the property’s original arched windows and ornate leadwork expertly blend the old with the new. Light and bright with an upside-down layout, there are three lovely double bedrooms on the ground floor (all with Smart TV’s), and a stunning living space upstairs. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room and access to a private conservatory that overlooks the pretty courtyard garden.
Upstairs, the open-plan living area includes a spacious lounge with a big L-shaped sofa and Smart, a lovely snug with its own TV and sofa bed, while the dining area has views has a Juliet balcony and views across St. Mary’s. The contemporary kitchen is large and well-equipped with high-quality Neff appliances so home-cooking is a dream, and there’s a separate utility / cloakroom where a tumble dryer and washing machine are housed.
Outside, the front garden has gravel and patio areas with an outside bench creating a fabulous spot for coffee in the sunshine, while the secluded courtyard garden at the back of the cottage is perfect for enjoying summer afternoons.
Perfect for guests with their canines in tow, this property is just a couple of minutes’ walk from St Mary’s Park – a favourite exercise spot for local dog owners. The secluded Man Sands Beach is roughly half an hour’s walk away through the lanes and countryside, making for a lovely morning our afternoon out with the hounds.
