One of the most quintessential of English customs was introduced in England by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, in the year 1840. The Grand Hotel built in 1881 is the perfect place to take part in the customary tradition. Homemade scones made in our micro bakery accompanied by Devon clotted cream and homemade jam enjoyed alone as a Devon Cream Tea or alongside a selection of traditional finger sandwiches, cakes and pastries which can be devoured whilst enjoying the panoramic sea views.
Enjoying easy access to 22 miles of beaches,hidden coves and the stunning coastline that make up The English Riviera. Why not take a walk along the South West Coast Path.
There are plenty of attractions and activities for all the family. There are many outdoor attractions such as Paignton Zoo, Torre Abbey (with bowls, pitch and putt and tennis courts), Quay West (fun-filled water park), Babbacombe Model Village, Babbacombe Cliff Railway, Dartmouth Steam Railway and many many more. For the rainy day there is Kent’s Cavern, Bygones and more....
Within easy driving distance of the historic cities of Exeter and Plymouth, where you can shop till you drop.
