There are also plenty of sightseeing excursions, and boat and fishing trips out into the bay. You’ll also find that it’s the HQ for a host of maritime events and regattas – but don’t worry if you don’t own a boat; there’s plenty of spectator points around the coast and each event brings its own festivals and celebrations.

Paignton is most famous for its wonderful zoo, whilst Babbacombe plays host to a world in miniature in the form of its acclaimed Model Village. In Brixham, you can find a replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship, the Golden Hind.
