It’s your holiday so you deserve to treat yourself to a night on the town. Here on the English Riviera, South Devon's beautiful bay, there's plenty of ways to pass the time after dark. You can take the family to see a show in our theatres, or enjoy glitz and glamour and an evening's entertainment in one of the local casinos. When the sun goes down, the curtain comes up, and with a selection of stand-up comedy acts, concerts, musicals and children's shows, there's something for everyone on stage at the English Riviera.
What's in store on stage
There’s always plenty of fun to be had at the Princess Theatre, Torquay, which showcases the very best of West End theatre as well as comedy nights and local shows. Over the past year the theatre has hosted such West End classics as Chicago, Dreamboats and Petticoats, Starlight Express and The Rocky Horror Show. 2013 looks set to be another bumper year!
For a unique experience, try the unusual Little Theatre in Torquay; housed in an old church, you'll find a range of concerts, musicals and shows performed by TOADS, an acclaimed local amateur dramatics company.
For those on evening out in Paignton, the Palace Theatre hosts a range of performances, particularly from the local Bijou Theatre Company.
Finally, there’s the famous Babbacombe Theatre, on Babbacombe Downs. The stage has seen the very best of British light entertainment tread its boards, and the theatre hosts regular summer and winter variety shows, bands and comedians.
