Historical delights

There are plenty of things to do in Brixham, which is located at the southern point of South Devon’s beautiful bay. With a host of historical sites to visit, including the replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship and the statue of William of Orange, there are also endless tales of smugglers and pirates that surround the area. Alternatively there are plenty of cafés and boutique shops waiting to be explored along charming streets, lined with colourful fisherman cottages and countless traditional pubs and eateries serving up the fresh catch of the day.

Days out in Brixham can be taken up with plenty of maritime activity and it is highly recommended that visitors take a boat trip to experience the best views of the stunning surroundings whilst hearing about the historical nautical adventures that the town is famed for.

For those looking for outdoor pursuits, Brixham has a choice of many exhilarating coastal walks and cycle paths and no visit would be complete without a trip to the cliff-top Geo Park, which can access at nearby Berry Head, and experience breathtaking views out across South Devon’s beautiful bay.
