The birthplace of Agatha Christie wouldn’t be the same without a murder mystery or two. Many of our hotels and guest houses run murder mystery weekend packages, adding that extra dimension to a holiday on the English Riviera, South Devon’s beautiful bay.

Whodunnit?

We’ve got some great criminal minds here on the English Riviera – our local murder mystery production companies are well versed in spinning tall tales full of red herrings and cunning clues. It’s the perfect opportunity for you to get dressed up and immerse yourself in the story, and amateur sleuths will love playing detective and working out whodunnit. Sometimes you’ll even be given your own character to play, or you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Agatha Christie Festival

For a week in September, it’s murder mystery mania on the English Riviera. You can’t go anywhere in the resort without bumping into a murder mystery dinner once the Agatha Christie Festival has begun. There are mysteries in spooky country inns, there are mysteries in rambling seaside pubs, and there are even mystery dinners on the steam railway running between Paignton and Dartmouth. Plenty for the amateur sleuth to get stuck into!
