Dog Friendly Holidays
Going away for your holidays can often mean leaving one of the most important members of the family behind – your dog. But in South Devon we like to extend a warm welcome to all our visitors, including our four-legged guests. That is why you’ll find plenty of dog friendly hotels here in Devon.
Part of the South West’s culture
Dogs are an important part of life in the South West. Many of our canine friends still play a vital role in the economy of the region, particularly in the farming and leisure industries. That is why we tend to be much more accommodating towards guests who don’t want to leave their pet behind when they come down to visit us. The result is plenty of pet friendly hotels, bed and breakfasts and camping sites where your dog will receive just as warm a welcome as you do!
Saving you money
Choosing dog friendly holidays in South Devon can also mean saving a considerable amount of money. By bringing your dog with you on holiday you won’t have to pay out for expensive kennel fees or persuade a friend to ‘dog sit’ for you. We’re of the opinion that your dog enjoys breaks away as much as you do, so why not bring them with you down to Devon?
Walkies on the beach
Many resorts ban dogs from beaches completely. Not us. Here on the English Riviera we know that dogs enjoy playing in the sand as much as the kids do, so beaches across the English Riviera are open to dogs from 1st October to 30th April. During the summer months there are plenty of beaches that allow dogs including Babbacombe Beach, Livermead Sands in Torquay and lots of other great sandy destinations across the region.
If you want to explore some of Devon’s best countryside, then we have 22 miles of the South West Coast Path to enjoy as well as miles and miles of country walks all around the region.
So if you’re planning your holidays and are looking for pet friendly hotels, B&Bs and campsites, simply browse our website and find the perfect dog friendly holiday that the whole family can enjoy!
