Easter Breaks
If you’re looking for somewhere to take the kids during the Easter holidays, you may be thinking of spending lots of money on flights to somewhere far away and exotic. But you don’t have to travel so far to find a destination that the whole family can enjoy, where the weather is warm and there’s plenty to do. In south Devon, the English Riviera offers all of these things at a fraction of the cost of overseas Easter breaks.
Why South Devon?
The English Riviera has a surprisingly warm micro-climate, due to its unique location by a sheltered bay on the south coast of Devon. 22 miles of beautiful coastline and sandy beaches span the traditional resort towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. The beaches here are both safe and clean and offer a wide range of amenities, whether you’re planning on sunbathing, building sandcastles or trying your hand at some water sports.
Attractions on the English Riviera
As well as the pristine beaches, there are more than enough attractions and things to do to keep both adults and children happy during their Easter breaks in Devon. Torquay Dinosaur Park is a favourite with many kids, while Paignton Zoo offers a great day out for the whole family, featuring animals from around the world. Babbacombe Model Village is also one of south Devon’s top attractions, with thousands of model buildings and people populating a miniature slice of British life.
There’s action-packed fun to be had in South Devon too, on the many slides at Quaywest Water Park. Brixham meanwhile has a go-karting track – ideal for a bit of friendly, high-octane family competition.
Accommodation
South Devon is highly popular as a destination for Easter Breaks with both British visitors and overseas tourists, so it has a vast range of accommodation to choose from. Holiday parks, campsites and caravan parks provide plenty of onsite entertainment and activities, while Devon’s many self-catering apartments and cottages are great if you’re looking for more of a home from home feel during your Easter breaks.
