About

THIS EVENT IS PART OF THE ENGLISH RIVIERA WALKING FESTIVAL

This is your chance to walk the English Riviera coastline from end to end.

Following the stunning South West Coast Path for about 30 miles, the route encompasses over 20 beaches, numerous beach cafes and bars, and breath-taking vistas.

Day one of this two day challenge, starts from Torquay Harbour, via Paignton Harbour to Broadsands for lunch on the beach. The scenery is just gorgeous , with white pebble beaches, golden sands changing to red sands, beautiful architecture and even a steam train on the way.  The afternoon section encompasses Elberry Cove, where Agatha Christie loved to swim and through Churston Woods to Brixham – home of the pirates and a busy fishing town. We finish at Berry Head – a national Nature Reserve –  with its iconic lighthouse, Napoleonic fort and a perfect spot for dolphin watching!

This section of the two day ‘challenge’ covers approx 15 miles over terrain which varies from ‘easy’ to ‘fairly strenuous’. The panoramic sea views throughout the walk will encourage any tiring legs!

Along the way, your two experienced tour guides will provide lots of interesting facts and entertaining anecdotes, sharing both their love and knowledge of this beautiful bay.

We will return to the start point on either a local bus (number 12) or a local ferry (the cost of travel is not included in the ticket price).

To join us for the second day of this exciting walking tour, go to ‘Walk the Bay Challenge – Torquay to Shaldon’ and book your places.

This walk should only be attempted by experienced and physically fit walkers.
